It's too early to complain. We should be patient and give LN a decent shot. Strictly speaking we know nothing about the fan club and the new forum at the moment. In particular we can only speculate about the issue of free or fee-based features.

I think, the fan club is yet probably quite incomplete and buggy. A few examples: It doesn't make a difference if I'm logged in or not. I get always the same content. And the upgrade is offered for 40 USD although I'm registered for Germany. I'll try it again in about two weeks.

no the membership is not the same with the cd with the upgraded version you get exclusive t shirt made just for the fan club fans and so on and forth

I wait and see. I needn't to decide now. An argument for paying the fee could be the early access to the tickets. It's a simple calculation: I expect a prize of 120 EUR for the front pit. Well, I have to pay 240 EUR for the tickets. The additional 30 EUR (=45 USD) are a insurance to ensure to get tickets close to the stage.
